It is with great regret that I reported at the Committee meeting last night that Terry Corfield has resigned his position on the Committee and also as Trustee of the Association.
Terry has served on the Committee on several occasions over his membership with the Association and has great knowledge of the drain systems. I would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks from both myself and the rest of the Committee for the contribution Terry has made in developing and running the Association, he will be greatly missed.
Prior to Terry's resignation we had two vacancies on the General Purpose Committee, this Committee is now only two thirds of its constitutional membership and there is a real danger that unless members start to come forward to help manage the Association we shall in the very near future start running into difficulty with being able to move things forward. The Association is a members club, run by members. Without volunteers on the committee there cannot under the Association's current constitution be a club!
Serving on the Committee is not as onerous as it may sound, we have monthly meetings which are held on the second Monday each month, the meetings generally last between one and two hours.
If you are interested in helping manage and shape the Association, please get in touch with me.
