ribble-oneGeneral Information:

Church Deeps:

If you park on the roadside, and use the steps down to the water's edge, care is needed due to the steepness of the river bank. It is recommended that anglers travel light. Water levels are affected by the larger tides which raises the River by several feet so caution must be taken.

Access to the Church Deeps length for SDAA members only is also available from Ribbleside Farm, through the small gate at next to the parking area.

Ribbleside Farm:

The Ribbleside Farm length of the river starts in the farm yard where the car parking is located.  It extended upstream to the farm boundary, which is the wire field fencing which extends out into the river - opposite the start of Melling's wood on the far bank.

Known Species:

Double figure barbel and bream are caught here, as are pike and carp to over 20lbs. Quality roach, dace and chub are also present.

Special Conditions:

Fishing is from dawn till dusk only.

NO Night Fishing.

Dogs are not allowed.

Please note that the Church Deeps length in the wood up to the gate at Ribbleside Farm is MEMBERS ONLY. NO DAY TICKETS ARE ISSUED FOR CHURCH DEEPS.  Members parking on the road and accessing the Church Deeps length via the gates  should remember that an SDAA key is required.

The owners of Ribbleside Farm are entitled to sell a maximum of TWO day tickets each day.  They are sold on a first-come, first-served basis - they cannot be reserved in advance, so please bear this in mind before venturing out onto the water.

The national close season applies, no fishing between from 15th March to 15th June inclusive.

Anyone parking at Ribbleside Farm should pay the £2.00 parking fee before leaving the car park.  There is a book in the garage (clear signs show where to go), which should be completed and the money placed in one of the envelopes then posted in the box.  This system operates on trust, so please don't abuse it.
